Garland



Garland is a city in Dallas County, situated on Lake Ray Hubbard in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

It is the 10th largest city in Texas, and the 83rd largest in the United States covering a total area of 147.9 km². The City is 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, and bordered by Interstate 635, Interstate 30, and U.S. 190. 

Garland which grew from a farming community was incorporated in 1891 and was known for years as the "Onion Capital of the World".
