Arlington : Texas

Arlington is a city in Tarrant County, in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The community was named in honor of Robert E. Lee's hometown in Virginia. Located on the Trinity River, Arlington is the seventh-largest city in the state and the fiftieth largest city in the United States covering a total area of 256.5 km² (99.0 mi²) of which 248.2 km² (95.8 mi²) of it is land and 8.3 km² (3.2 mi²) of it (3.24%) is water.

The city surrounds Kennedale, Grand Prairie, Mansfield and Fort Worth, and the smaller communities of Dalworthington Gardens and Pantego. Two Interstate Highways, I-20 and I-30 serve the city.

Arlington enjoys a pleasant climate throughout the year with mild winters and sunny summers. The average annual rainfall is 33 inches while the annual humidity is 56. The average winter temperature is 57 degrees F while the average summer temperature is 94 degrees.
