Texas : Administration

Texas is the 2nd state of U.S and was admitted to the U.S union in 1845 as the 48th state. Texas is located in South Central region of United States. The legislation of the Texas state consists of three branches: the executive, the legislative and the judicial. The Governor heads the executive branch in addition to the governor and the lieutenant governor there are several other officers in the executive branch which are elected by voting like Treasury, Comptroller and Attorney General except the Secretary of the state. The term of each officer is of four-years. The second branch is the legislature which consists of the General Assembly. The General Assembly is divided into two parts the upper house or the Senators having strength of 35-members and the lower house or the House of Representatives consisting of 150 members. The senate is headed by the lieutenant governor while the House is headed by the Speaker. The judicial authority of Texas consists of two courts the Supreme Court for civil cases and the Texas Criminal Court for Appeals.  The Supreme Court of Texas is highest court in the state headed by the Chief Justice. The judicial system of Texas is the most complex in the United States.

Commission on Environmental Quality: The Motive of the department is to protect and preserve the environment through natural resource assessment in order to sustain the environment of Texas for the present and future generations. The goal of the department is clean air, clean water and proper management and disposal of waste.

Department of Health and Human Services: The motive of the department is to protect, promote and preserve the health and well being of the people of Texas through various services like prevention of diseases, vaccinations, community planning, licensing and certification of Medicaid, food safety and many other programs undertaken by the department in accordance with local health care providers. Apart from these, the department also provides important life sustaining services to the people especially those who are least able to help themselves by helping them live better and healthy lives and also provides the motivation for them to improve the conditions of their lives. The Department runs various programs based on children, women, elders, families and communities.

Department of Transportation: The Texas Department of Transportation constructs and maintains highways, roads and mass transit systems for the safe faster and efficient movement of people and goods.
